US Visa Slot Monitor (browser extension) & usvisaslotsupdate.com · Last updated: 2 September 2026
This policy explains what data the US Visa Slot Monitor browser extension and its
companion website (usvisaslotsupdate.com) collect, why, and how it is handled. The
service is operated by the team that runs this deployment; contact details are at the end.
In short: the extension reads the visa appointment page you already have open,
takes a cropped screenshot of the calendar when availability changes, and sends it plus a short
text summary to our own backend so your team can see openings on a shared dashboard and Telegram
channel. It never signs in, clicks, navigates, or automates the visa portal. Names visible in a
screenshot are blurred inside your browser before the image is sent.
1. What the extension collects
-
Account details — the name, email address and password you enter in the
extension popup to create or sign in to a team account. The password is sent over HTTPS to our
backend, stored only as a one-way hash, and never stored by the extension. After sign-in the
extension keeps a session token in your browser's local storage.
-
Appointment page content — while monitoring is on, on
usvisa-info.com and usvisascheduling.com only, the extension reads
the text already rendered on the appointment page (the selected consulate, and whether slots
or a calendar are shown) and the URL of that page.
-
Screenshots — when availability changes, the extension captures the visible
area of the appointment tab and crops it to the calendar / slots region. Applicant and
group-member names within that crop are blurred and blacked out in your browser before the
image is transmitted.
-
Settings — your chosen visa category, the consulates to watch, check
interval and alert preferences. Stored in your browser; a copy of category/location is
included with each report for routing.
-
Technical logs — like any web service, our backend records the IP address and
timestamp of requests it receives, for security and abuse prevention.
2. What it does not do
- It does not run on any site other than the two visa appointment domains listed above.
- It does not read your browsing history, other tabs, bookmarks, cookies or passwords for other sites.
- It does not log keystrokes, mouse movement or clicks.
- It does not sign in, submit forms, click buttons, navigate, reload, solve CAPTCHAs, or send any request to the visa portal.
- It does not use remote code — all logic ships inside the extension package.
3. How the data is used
Solely to operate the service: detecting a change in appointment availability and delivering the
screenshot and summary to your team's dashboard (usvisaslotsupdate.com/#/admin) and,
if enabled, your team's Telegram channel. Reports are attributed to the account that captured
them so your team knows who is watching which consulate.
4. Where it is stored and who can see it
- Data is stored in a MongoDB Atlas database controlled by the service operator.
-
Screenshots and summaries are visible to signed-in members of your team on the admin
dashboard, and — if Telegram alerts are enabled — to members of the Telegram channel the
operator has configured.
-
We do not sell or transfer your data to third parties, and we do not use it
for advertising, credit scoring, or any purpose unrelated to the service.
-
Third-party processors: MongoDB Atlas (database hosting), Render (backend hosting), Vercel
(website hosting), and Telegram (message delivery, only if enabled).
5. Retention
Change events and screenshots are kept until an administrator deletes them from the dashboard.
Your account exists until an administrator removes it. You can request deletion of your account
and associated data at any time using the contact details below.
6. Your choices
- Turn Monitoring off in the popup to stop all reading and reporting immediately.
- Remove the extension to delete all locally stored settings and the session token.
- Disable Telegram alerts in the popup to keep reports on the dashboard only.
- Contact us to have your account and its data deleted.
7. Children
The service is intended for adults arranging visa appointments and is not directed at children under 13.
8. Changes
If this policy changes materially, the "Last updated" date above will change and team
administrators will be notified.
